The Australian Statistical Conference 2025 (ASC2025), hosted by the Statistical Society of Australia, brings together statisticians, data scientists, educators and professionals from academia, government and industry across Australia and beyond.
ASC2025 is committed to fostering an inclusive, respectful and welcoming environment for all attendees. We expect everyone involved - speakers, delegates, sponsors, organisers and volunteers—to engage with one another professionally, courteously and respectfully throughout the conference.
This Code of Conduct applies to all official conference activities, including sessions, workshops, networking events, social functions and digital communications related to the event (such as email and social media).
Harassment or discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to:
Offensive or derogatory comments based on gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, race, ethnicity, religion, or national origin
Unwelcome sexual attention, including inappropriate comments or advances
Inappropriate or unwanted physical contact
Intimidation, stalking, or deliberate disruption of sessions
Non-consensual photography or recording
Display of discriminatory or sexualised images in shared spaces
If you experience or witness behaviour that violates this Code, please contact a member of the designated Response Team (contact details will be shared prior to the event). Reports will be handled with sensitivity and wherever possible, confidentiality.
In response to any breach, the organisers may take appropriate action. This could include issuing a warning, revoking access to the event without refund, or reporting to relevant institutions or authorities. Members of the Statistical Society of Australia may also be subject to disciplinary action under the Society’s Code of Conduct.
